Digital Literacy instruction is no longer an option for students. Instead, national and state standards, online assessments and the proliferation of computing devices in the classroom require our students be technology proficient by eighth grade, if not earlier. Plus, our students’ careers depend upon their ability to understand and harness digital tools.

In this session, you'll gain key insights on 12 essential digital literacy skills that every student should master before entering high school. The overview will include:

  • Standards and online assessments that drive digital literacy instruction
  • Essential digital literacy skills that should be taught to insure your students’ success in school, with online assessments, and in their future careers
  • Vital topics within each of the essentials and suggestions for when they should be taught in a K-8 digital literacy curriculum
  • Overview of a curriculum to support instruction in the essential digital literacy skills
